Back to the little black bag
"The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center (GHVFHC) will soon break ground on a patient-centered building, which will transform our capacity to serve uninsured and underinsured people, and expand our ability to offer high-quality primary and specialty care services," says Linda S. Muller, GHVFHC President and CEO. "For 41 years we have been the family doctor for Orange County families."
"In the early 1900s, health care was about the doctor with a little black bag; he knew his patient and his or her family. Then the health care system changed to become about fragmented and specialized care," Muller said. "Our goal at the health center is to go back to the doctor with the "little black bag"---getting back to a focus on primary and preventative care."
Innovative Resources Group is currently working with the health center that serves over 17,000 patients annually, to plan and undertake its first-ever capital project to raise $7 million from private philanthropy and government support to construct the new health center.
