Karen Rappleyea

Karen is Vice President for Campaign Services for Innovative Resources Group. As a national nonprofit consultant, development professional and volunteer leader, Karen has had a flourishing career in nonprofit management and consulting. She provides clients a unique perspective and in-depth experience in stewardship, membership, capital and endowment campaigns, campaign planning studies, and special-purpose campaigns. Karen has worked with a wide range of organizations and institutions throughout the United States and internationally, including colleges, churches, human services, zoos, museums, cultural and arts.

Karen joined Innovative Resources Group in 2004 and has been working with the firm's team of senior professionals serving community health centers, public libraries, arts centers, public policy research centers, historic preservation organizations, colleges and public television stations.

Along with her Innovative Resources Group colleagues, Karen believes each client must earn a donor's philanthropic support. Channeling her energies to "make it happen", Karen offers specific solutions to diverse client issues. She provides unique perspective and guidance to build and nurture each client's stakeholder relationships. With every project, Karen enjoys the collaborative relationship with an organization's staff and volunteer leaders.

As an active community volunteer in every community she has lived in, Karen has held leadership positions serving on the boards of the Reece Center for Handicapped Horsemanship, the Millbrook Library, and the Centre for Playback Theatre. She has also served her alma mater as the Alumnae Liaison and Class Agent for Wheaton College (MA). In addition to holding a B.A. from Wheaton College, Karen has studied at Villanova University and the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England.

A native of Dutchess County, New York, she and her family reside near Saratoga Springs. Karen and her husband escape to Saratoga's historic race course whenever time allows.

"We practice what we preach. Our solutions are specific, not formulaic; no two are ever the same, and almost all of them require something new, fresh, and innovative."
