New Comprehensive Book Published on Adirondack Birding

The Arts Center/Old Forge will host a special author's signing for the newly released book Adirondack Birding: 60 Great Places to Find Birds. This is the first comprehensive guidebook about birding hot spots in the Adirondack Park and the Arts Center is proud to feature its authors at the reception. The book's authors, retired NYS Forest Ranger Gary Lee and veteran birder John M.C. Peterson drew on decades of experience in selecting the sites in the guidebook.

Author Gary Lee serves on the board of directors of the Arts Center and has served as the organization's board chairman. The book published by Lost Pond Press ($20.95, soft cover, 240 pages) is being distributed by the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) through its website or Long Pond's website, and it is also available at selected fine book stores. "From feasibility studies to giving pyramids, fundraising techniques have become antiquated and stagnant. What makes Innovative Resources truly innovative is the creative and critical thinking that is applied to each unique organization. Using the collective experience and expertise to help transform a nonprofit is the "art" that is missing with all the canned, checklist formats repeated by many other consulting firms."

Vice President for Campaign Services
