Counseling services proven to be an essential component for healthy communities and healthy families

Ever wonder why health insurance plans cover a limited number of counseling sessions when research shows that comprehensive counseling services on an ongoing basis and as-needed basis is far more effective? To counter this problem, the Samaritan Counseling Center of the Capital Region has been working diligently to raise philanthropic support from individuals, businesses and congregations to fund professional counseling services that go well beyond the limited sessions insurance companies cover. "So many people and families are in crisis and professional counseling enables us all -- a young person suffering from depression or an eating disorder, a single parent family caught in a financial crisis, or some many other people in critical situations, lead more productive and satisfying lives" according to Dr. David Olsen, Executive Director of the Samaritan Counseling Services of the Capital Region.

Innovative Resources Group is partnering with the Samaritan Counseling Center of the Capital Region to increase awareness and support for the largest, nonprofit, community-based counseling practice in the region. The Center has offered professional counseling services to the uninsured and under insured since 1985.
