Bay Area Cancer Connections (BACC) has been a leader in supportive care for breast and ovarian cancer patients, survivors, and family members for more than 25 years. BACC, located in the San Francisco Bay Area, provides personalized counseling, support groups, wellness classes, medical research services, and a Resource Center.
Challenge
BACC sought to grow its services and its impact in the Bay Area and to build a more diversified philanthropy program and significantly increase revenue-generation. Innovative Resources was asked to provide executive counsel to BACC’s CEO, board of directors, and director of donor engagement to help achieve this goal.
Our Solution
Innovative Resources, with Beth Hershenhart as the lead, provided executive counsel for BACC’s CEO to transition to a more extensive relationship-based philanthropy program. We established an Engagement Team, coached the BACC Board and volunteer leaders on creating a culture of philanthropy, and supported the volunteers and staff to dramatically increase the amount of dollars raised.
